Dip & Crumble is a fast-growing home bakery in Gurgaon, and a Shopify template was never going to fit how a small-batch bakery actually operates. We designed and engineered a fully custom, headless ecommerce platform from the ground up: a premium storefront that drives orders, and an admin dashboard that removes the operational headaches - over-ordering, payment chasing, manual coordination - so the family can focus on baking, not admin.
Small-batch baking has rules that off-the-shelf platforms don't understand: each product has a daily baking capacity, orders need lead times and delivery slots, only certain cities are serviceable, and payments arrive over UPI - which means manual chasing. Running this on a rigid template meant over-ordering, admin overhead, and ongoing platform fees for features that didn't fit.
We built the platform end-to-end on React 19 (TanStack Start, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS) with a Supabase backend secured by row-level security and race-safe order creation. The storefront handles multi-size variants, date-and-slot scheduling with lead-time enforcement, serviceable-city validation, gift wrapping, and promo codes - plus per-product daily baking caps that auto-mark items sold out, monthly limited-edition drops with live countdowns, and verified customer reviews. Behind it sits a full admin dashboard with role-based access: live orders, a kitchen prep view, product management, review moderation, discounts, reports, and customer insights. UPI payments run on dynamic QR codes with uploaded payment proofs and automated reminders, with transactional email via Resend, live chat, bot protection, and full analytics.
